Recipe for Spicy Candied Nuts

4 cups mixed raw cashews, almonds, pecans or walnuts

2 Tbsp turbinado sugar

1½ tsp salt

2 tsp finely chopped rosemary

½ tsp cayenne pepper

1/8 tsp smoked paprika

1 Tbsp honey

1 Tbsp karo syrup

¼ tsp grated orange zest

2 tsp turbinado sugar

½ tsp salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup white sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl combine ingredients 1-6.
  3. In a microwavable bowl, combine honey, karo syrup and orange zest; microwave on high for 10 seconds.
  4. Pour microwaved syrup over the nuts and stir to coat. Spread nuts on baking sheet in a single layer and sprinkle with remaining salt and sugar.
  5. Roast for 25 – 35 minutes depending on oven.
  6. Store in air tight containers
